IT’S war between ANC factions who on one hand believe those who captured the state ought to be imprisoned and on the other, those who feel the entire state capture narrative seeks to persecute Former President Jacob Zuma’s supporters who voted against President Cyril Ramaphosa at the ANC National Elective Conference at Nasrec in 2017.
A group calling itself The Gauteng based RET Zuma Support Group is holding a press conference today. “The purpose of the press conference is to address the abuse and vilification that President Jacob Zuma is being subjected to, as most recently demonstrated by the vindictive warrant of arrest that was issued against him. The media conference will also address the critical need for Radical Economic Transformation (RET), and concerns about the slow, and in some instances total lack of, implementation of the economic transformation Resolutions that were adopted at the 54th National Conference of the ANC. At the press conference a programme of action, including rolling mass action, to address these critical concerns will be announced. The programme to be announced will concentrate on Gauteng, but will also expand nationwide”.
The Kathrada Foundation is holding public rallies in Cape Town and Johannesburg to “call on our government to make 2020 the #YearOfTheOrangeOveralls.“
Will Zuma Attend Sona 2020 or not?
Meanwhile, in other news, Parliament issued a statement saying Former President Jacob will attend the State of The Union Address tomorrow. Zuma failed to appear in the Kwazulu-Natala High Court due to ill-health last week. A warrant of arrest against him was issued, sparking what could be a revolt by his supporters.
Carl Niehaus who is the convener of the RET Zuma Support Group denies the claims and called the statement “fake”.
