Khaya Sithole with Competition Commissioner Thembinkosi Bonakele at the PWV event

At the end of his column “About Auditors, Charters and Radical Economic Transformation” http://uncensoredopinion.co.za/about-auditors-charters-and-radical-transformation/ Khaya Sithole wrote: “Rumour has it I will be invited to a disciplinary hearing from SAICA after this. I shall let you know how it goes”. In the article he lays bare the incestuous relationship between the Big Four auditing cartels and banks and the big, largely JSE listed companies.

The statement concerned me deeply as I know the brutality of these cartels when they shut-down dissenting voices. In some cases, they can strip you bare and destroy your life. I speak from personal experience. In several posts I made on Twitter, I asked if this matter wasn’t one which could interest the Competition Commission. I also suggested that we needed to protect Sithole – a call I’ve made for Africans who are persecuted for demanding, exposing and implementing transformation of the economy in their various sectors.

At the weekend, I was reliably told Sithole was invited to an event hosted by PriceWaterhouseCooper (PWC) and there he quickly spotted the Competition Commissioner and approached him for a little chat about possible collusion in the auditing field. Sithole has confirmed that he indeed met the Commissioner and he would be setting up a meeting with his office.

Elsewhere on cyberspace, the cartel and their cheer leaders demanded social media Facebook remove the article.

We will keep you updated. We must similarly fightback.
